I don't often get to see the Daily Show with John Stewart. But I have, on a rare day off, been watching some clips of his show on Google Video. I was especially interested in the shows involving his appearances on news shows and with special guests of interest on his show.

If you have the time, I recommend his show on Rick Santelli. Also, his interviews on the Bill Moyers show and Crossfire. He also has been on Bill O'Reillys, and Bill O'Reilly has been on his show. A must see is the show with former Bush Press Secretary Scott McClellan.

In fairness to Keith Olbermann, John Stewart is a much better pundit than Rush Limbaugh is a comedian!

While wandering the vine I came across a post by Nearing. She was telling someone that had posted an article to always be sure to be the first to post to your own article. Thank you Nearing.

You're very welcome, fmcarp.

Nice little article.

I concur!

I voted Jon Stewart in the poll but it may be wishful thinking. Maybe that's because I only live a few miles from Bob Jones Univ. Some of the American public will scare the dookie out of you.

You can check out every episode of The Daily Show on their website.

He's great, but I'm a Colbert Nation member all the way.

I'd rather watch anyone right about now that isn't a politican or a radio host.

I agree with the article, Keith Olberman is a jerk but he is my Jerk and I don't think he is unaware of the humor that comes from being overly serious about ones self. Rush and Bill don't know that they are funny. John Stewart is a nice complement to all the serious hilarity.

I didn't mean to imply that others who like him, think Keith is a jerk and perhaps I don't but I can see how people who don't agree with him might think that he is a Jerk. I think he is highly intelligent and knows when he is funny. I also think Colbert is very high level with his humor.

John Stewart and Rush Limbaugh act as two different social forces in two different medians. Though I enjoy both programs, I do find John Stewart to be more centrist albeit left, of center, which is why I voted for him in the poll.

As for who I'd prefer to listen to? I'm glad I don't have to make that decision as Rush is on in the afternoons if I'm not mistaken and Stewart at night.

If your able to go back and watch Stewarts appearances on Crossfire and Bill Moyers, you will see an intelectual side of him that Rush cannot come close to. After all the funny stuff, I think if he wanted to he could host a serious show much like Chris Mathews or Olbermann.

Another liberal bias slanted news channel, just what we need. Just like newsvines is left leaning as by the posts i read on all the different stories. None of those old democrat party workers are neither funny or smart, just can read talking points.

Sorry to disagree with you on Newsvine leaning left. But Newsvine articles are either written or seeded by members. I would hazard a guess that it must follow the same percentages of the general public. Its not like they advertise for one side or the other. People just join to express their views. If the views expressed tend to be leaning to the left, maybe its because thats where we have come as a people.

In the discussions I have joined it seems to me a pretty even split, but then the poll above does show otherwise.

I welcome your comments but do wish you could have made an intelligent case to support your views.

1st - John Stewart is my hero. To be able to take news stories, and find ways to laugh at some of the ridiculous things that happen, that takes skill and wit. I think John has strong opinions on subjects, but he doesn't let them impact his show.

2nd - I think Rush Limbah basically just flaps his lips until something controvercial comes out, waits while people flip out, enjoys some higher ratings, then goes back to the lip flapping...

3rd - I enjoy watching clips of Olbermann, mostly his "Worst Person in the World." I do think he takes himself a little seriously at times, but he (as far as I know) has never had any of the huge ignorant gaffes that others in the similar genre of show have had (I'm looking at you, O'reilly, Limbah etc).

Um, Sick (#8.2) -- The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are COMEDY shows not news. That's why they are on the Comedy Channel.
