If you're talking about a system where everybody will have enough to eat, where everyone has sufficient shelter and clothing, where the planet will be protected, where people have enough freedom to express themselves, but not so much that they would be hurtful to others, most people will sign on to that.

After listening to the presidents speach the other night, maybe this is what he wants to bring back, "aspire to greatness. Why constantly tear down others to build yourself up?

This is/was my first seeded article on nv. I thought this article would stir some debate because I felt it had some relevance to the current economic crises. Do you think that people are looking for someone to bring them to the "promised land", an economic utopia? Do you find it interesting how the partisanship bickering does bring back memories of Orwells 1984? Do you feel socialism is an attempt for a utopian society, or must a utopian society only work within the confines of socialism?

Well there we go.
